A research & valuation tool for stocks

StockUp is a user-friendly app designed to help investors and traders research and assess stock values efficiently. I collaborated closely with the client to create a polished, intuitive tool that enhances financial decision-making. My contributions included designing the app’s logo and icon, creating detailed mockups for developers, building an interactive prototype, and delivering a comprehensive final presentation

The challenge

The client needed a solution that would allow users to seamlessly research and evaluate stocks on the go. The app needed to balance complex data with an intuitive user interface, making it accessible for both seasoned investors and those new to the market. The challenge was to present financial data in a clear and engaging way without overwhelming the user.

Prototype

To ensure the app’s functionality aligned with the user’s needs, I developed an interactive prototype that simulated essential interactions, including stock lookup, stock evaluation, and setting price targets. This allowed the client to test core features and gather early user feedback before full development.

Stock Lookup: Users can easily search for specific stocks, view key financial data such as price history, performance charts, and related news articles. The prototype showcased smooth transitions from the search results to detailed stock profiles.

Stock Evaluation: The prototype provided users with tools to assess a stock’s value, using financial metrics like P/E ratio, dividend yield, and other key performance indicators. This helped users make informed decisions on whether to invest.

Setting Price Targets: Users could set custom price targets for stocks in their watchlist, triggering notifications when a stock reached a certain threshold. The prototype simulated the process of setting and editing these targets.
